What Is This Charity?
Catholic Charities has served the most vulnerable people in Hartford, Litchfield, and New Haven counties, regardless of their faith, undergirded by the belief in the universality of human dignity, since 1920: over one hundred years of stewardship. Honoring children as the future, families as the foundation of our present, and our elders as the bulwarks against forgetting the past, Catholic Charities sees collaboration across differences as part of God’s love, along with core values of:
- Dignity
- Hope
- Diversity
- Compassion
- Excellence
- Solidarity

Why OREE Values This Charity
OREE and the Coons family believe in the dignity of the people of the state of Connecticut. Local relationship-building is the key to development, both economically and socially. Return on investment requires investment. Respect creates respect, which creates respect, without which neither victories can be celebrated nor failures learned from.
The Impact of This Charity
Help & Hope is Catholic Charities’ annual primary fundraising event, which raises money for its services helping Connecticut children, families, and elders. Help & Hope 2024 brought together talent from across the state.
- UConn Men’s Basketball Coach Dan Hurley and Hartford Mayor Arunan Arulampalam as speakers
- WTNH News Anchor Dennis House as Master of Ceremonies
- Conor Geary “Game Day Conor”, the On-Court and On-Field Host for UConn Basketball and the Hartford Yard Goats, as Auctioneer
The Help & Hope Breakfast brought together these people under a united banner of creating a better Connecticut.
