What Is This Charity?

For many families around Connecticut, a healthy child is the ultimate prize. UConn Coach Geno Auriemma, recently declared the “winningest” college basketball coach of all time after the UConn’s women’s dominant 85-41 home victory against Fairleigh Dickinson—his 1,217th victory—wants to help Connecticut families win.

To that end, he has partnered with Connecticut Children’s Medical Hospital (CCMH) with a four-pronged annual strategy:

  • The Leadership Forum
  • March Matching
  • A charity dinner, with a summer beach theme
  • A golf tournament

Why OREE Values This Charity

OREE and the Coons family believe that all families deserve high-quality medical care, close to home, and that this care is the tinder of hope. Hope is the fuel of the human spirit. Physical capability means nothing if it is not backed up by the will to see the journey through.

Moreover, when a child gets sick or hurt, they are not the only ones thrust onto the battlefield. Thus, communities must band together to buoy through the storm.

The Impact of This Charity

The Geno For The Kids Charity Dinner is the third event of the Geno For The Kids calendar, full of summer fun—and the promise for more, through its buffet of exciting auction prizes, including a yacht trip!

The Coons family won such a trip at the Geno For The Kids Charity Dinner 2024.
