At the ribbon cutting for The Old Hatch Building at 24 Washington St, on December 2nd, the Mayor stated, “The City of New Britain is very fortunate to have made the right choice in selecting William Coons III (of Opportunity Real Estate Equities) as the developer for 24 Washington Street,” he said. “The former Hatch Building has literally come back to life.
Coons said, “This project was not financially viable when I came in,” the developer explained. “The building was in totally horrific shape. We updated it, made it ADA (Americans with Disability Act) compliant and rebuilt everything.”
